Seeking Wisdom at Dawn

Each day brings decisions—big and small. We face choices about work, relationships, health, and how to spend our time. Wisdom helps us navigate those choices in a way that honors God and serves others. The good news is that God promises to give wisdom to those who ask.

James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” There is no shame in needing wisdom. Asking for it each morning is a humble and wise way to start the day.

Scripture on Wisdom

The Bible holds wisdom in high regard. Proverbs 3:5–6 urges us to trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways we should acknowledge Him, and He will make our paths straight. Proverbs 2:6 reminds us that the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Let these verses guide you as you pray. Wisdom is a gift, not something we earn.

A Morning Prayer for Wisdom

Lord, I need Your wisdom today. I face decisions and I do not always know the right path. Give me discernment and clarity. Help me to trust You rather than my own understanding. Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Thank You for Your promise to give wisdom to those who ask. Amen.
