Afternoon Prayer for Courage
Afternoon Prayer for Courage
When Courage Fades
Morning resolve can fade by afternoon. The difficult conversation you need to have, the hard decision you need to make, or the fear you have been pushing down can surface when energy dips. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is moving forward despite it. God offers to strengthen us for that.
Joshua 1:9 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Courage comes from knowing we are not alone.
Scripture for Courage
The Bible is full of promises for the fearful. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” Psalm 27:1 declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?” God does not shame us for being afraid. He meets us in our fear and offers His presence.
Let these words sink in before you pray. God is with you for the rest of this day.
An Afternoon Prayer for Courage
Lord, my courage is fading. I need Your strength for what lies ahead. Help me to trust that You are with me. Give me boldness to do what is right and to face what I fear. I depend on You. Amen.
