Afternoon Prayer for Clarity

When Decisions Feel Cloudy

Sometimes clarity eludes us. We face decisions without clear answers, and the afternoon can feel like a fog. A prayer for clarity is not asking God to magically remove all uncertainty. It is asking Him to guide our thinking and to give us wisdom for the next step.

Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Clarity often comes step by step, not all at once. Trusting God with the process is part of the answer.

Scripture for Clarity

Scripture speaks to our need for direction. James 1:5 promises that God gives wisdom to those who ask. Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” God is not hiding the path from us. He invites us to seek His guidance.

Lord, I need clarity. My mind feels cloudy and I am unsure of the next step. Give me wisdom and direction. Help me to trust You when the path is unclear. Illuminate what I need to see. Thank You for Your guidance. Amen.
